Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR)

The new Commission will be an independent non-departmental public body whose purpose is to reduce inequality, eliminate discrimination, strengthen good relations between people and protect human rights.

CRE work towards the elimination of racial discrimination and promote equality of opportunity, encourages good relations between people from different racial and ethnic backgrounds and monitors the way the Race Relations Act is working and recommends ways in which it can be improved.
