Management Committee

At the helm of ELA is the Management Committee (ManCo), elected from the membership by the members every two years. The Management Committee steers the policy and direction of ELA and its membership services.

ELA AGM and Elections for the 2020 - 2022 ManCo

We will be extending the deadline for members to submit their nominations to stand for election to ManCo to Friday 29 May 2020, to give members more time to consider whether they would like to stand for a role. There is a link below to more information about ManCo roles and responsibilities.

ELA’s AGM usually takes place at the Annual Conference, and in the normal course our newly appointed ManCo (statutory directors) would have taken office at the Annual Conference on 21 May 2020.  Taking account of the current uncertainty regarding the Annual Conference and public guidance, practicalities relating to our Articles, and the benefits of continuity through this difficult time, we have taken the decision to postpone the AGM (regardless of whether the Annual Conference proceeds).

Voting will take place in June and we will hold the AGM, at which the new ManCo will take office, as soon as practical after that.   ELA’s articles require that we hold our AGM within 15 months of the previous AGM, ie by mid-September 2020, although our preference is to hold the AGM sooner if we are able to do so.

We will send an updated nomination form, and confirmation of the election dates, to all members. Members who have already sent in nomination forms do not need to re-submit.
