This event will look at international whistleblowing claims from both sides of the Atlantic in the context of employment law. The talk will be delivered jointly by Ed Kemp from Littleton Chambers and Erika Kelton, US attorney and partner at Phillips and Cohen.

This event will be beneficial to anyone interested in cross-border employment claims and, in particular, understanding the claims, potential liabilities or strategic advantages where there is a US element. The focus will be on whistleblowing but the UK section will also be applicable to other types of employment claims, such as discrimination and unfair dismissal claims.

Erika has represented whistleblowers in the US, UK and other countries for more than 20 years, including the international whistleblower who received the largest SEC award so far – more than $32 million. She represented the leading whistleblowers in the record-setting healthcare fraud case against GlaxoSmithKline that settled for $3 billion. As an expert in whistleblower enforcement approaches, Erika has consulted on whistleblower programs with policymakers and legislators in the US, UK, Europe and Asia.

Ed is noted in Chambers & Partners 2017 for his international employment practice and is currently involved in a number of international whistleblowing cases at both Employment Tribunal and EAT level.
