The Employment Litigant In Person Scheme (ELIPS) provides pro bono advice to unrepresented litigants. The scheme currently operates at London Central,  Cardiff and Birmingham Employment Tribunals and is soon to be trialled in Bristol Employment Tribunal.  ELIPS has already received endorsement from the President of the Employment Tribunals, Brian Doyle, as well as a number of the Regional Employment Judges, and is run in collaboration with the Advocate (the Bar Pro Bono Unit),  LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) and the Free Representation Unit. ELIPS provides ELA members with an easy way to do meaningful pro bono work and provides excellent exposure to tribunal litigation. To find out more information about the scheme please click here.

The ELA Pro Bono Committee is hosting an event to express our profound thanks to existing ELIPS volunteers and give ELA members an opportunity to find out more about ELIPS and to hear from those who have volunteered, as well as the judiciary, about their ELIPS experiences.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and want to find out more, please join us on 7 March 2019. REJ Potter and REJ Barry Clarke will be sharing their ELIPS experiences.  The evening also offers the opportunity for interested ELA members to ask questions about the scheme over a glass of wine and some nibbles.

This is a free event.
