This is a free webinar for ELA and ELBA members who are interested in applying to become a salaried or fee paid Employment Judge and who wish to learn more about the roles and the respective application processes.

The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) will be commencing two selection exercises over the Autumn. The first exercise will recruit 50 fee paid Employment Judges in England and Wales, as part of a competition that will also recruit fee paid judges of the First-tier Tribunal. Registration for the first stage qualifying test opens on 5 October 2021 and closes on 19 October 2021. The second exercise will recruit 50 full time equivalent salaried Employment Judges in England and Wales. This will launch in early November 2021, (date to be confirmed on the JAC website applications page). For the second time, the salaried competition will be open to candidates who do not have previous judicial experience, so long as they have employment law expertise.

ELA and ELBA  arranged a national webinar for members who are interested in applying to become a salaried or fee paid Employment Judge and who wish to learn more about the roles and the respective application processes.

The law is stated as at the date of recording.
