This is a webinar for ELA members who are interested in applying to become fee-paid Employment Judges and who wish to learn more about the role and the application process.

The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) has recently announced that it will be running a single Combined Qualifying Test (CQT) in June 2020 as the first stage of three large selection exercises for fee-paid judges. This includes a process for selecting fee-paid judges of the Employment Tribunals in England and Wales. Further details are available here.

In a change to the process previously adopted, the CQT will take place before candidates fill in their full application form. If you wish to apply for one or more of these roles, you will need to register for the CQT by 5 May 2020. The JAC will not run another qualifying test for these roles until 2021.

If you are interested in applying to become a fee-paid Employment Judge, please complete a short diversity survey, if you have not done so already, to help us understand the demographic of  those interested in applying for these roles.
