HM Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) has confirmed in a letter that fees will be implemented in employment tribunals and the EAT on Monday 29 July 2013. Subject to Parliamentary approval of the draft Employment Tribunals and the Employment Appeal Tribunal Fees Order 2013, from this date, all tribunal claimants and EAT appellants will be liable to pay a fee or provide an application for fee remission against that fee. Further information on the fee levels set out in the Order can be found in our news story of 26 April 2013.

In the letter, the Deputy Director of Tribunals also states that HMCTS will in due course share a further set of questions and answers on the new business processes and the arrangements for the move to the new fees structure. Information will also be updated on the justice.gov.uk website.
