Diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice have been a focus for many employers in recent years, recognising DEI’s importance to employees and other stakeholders and the positive impact that getting it right can have on business success. However, employers have had to balance a desire to act against legal constraints in the Equality Act.

Although the legal landscape has not changed, the government recently published guidance on lawful positive action and on measuring, reporting on and addressing ethnicity pay differences on a voluntary basis. In light of the guidance, the webinar addresses:

  • When positive action is permitted by the Equality Act and what an employer has to do to rely on the provisions;
  • Restrictions on positive action in recruitment and how to operate the “tiebreak” provisions lawfully;
  • How to report ethnicity pay gaps effectively; and
  • Practical steps employers are taking to embed diversity and inclusion in their organisations –  rewards, challenges and measuring success.
