This talk will consider the jurisdiction rules which apply in employment and related cases subsequent to the UK’s departure from the EU and to the Brussels Regulations ceasing to have effect. It will address the new domestic law governing jurisdiction in claims by and against employers. But it will also consider the limits of the new rules and the law in cases apparently not covered by the legislation, such as claims brought by employees against persons who are not the employer and the rules applicable in, for example, LLP disputes. In that context, it will make suggestions as to the rules which are now to apply in cases not covered by the legislation. It will also comment on the present position in relation to anti-suit injunctions.
