Laura acts for clients in the Highlands, Islands and Moray, and is based in Inverness. Having specialised in employment law throughout her career, Laura has extensive experience providing advice and support to clients on the full spectrum of employment law matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, industrial relations, business reorganisations, redundancy and TUPE. Laura regularly advises on the employment law aspects of commercial transactions, supporting our corporate and commercial property teams where required. Laura also acts for individuals in relation to workplace issues and settlement agreements.

Laura’s experience covers all stages of the employment relationship and includes time in an HR role prior to qualification as a Solicitor and as part of a specialist litigation team, managing Employment Tribunal claims at first instance, Employment Appeal Tribunal and Court of Appeal stages.

Laura is adept at drafting and reviewing contractual documentation. This includes employment contracts, handbook and policies and well as restrictive covenants and commercial indemnities and warranties.

Laura enjoys trusted relationships with her clients which span a variety of sectors and sizes. Clients value Laura’s meticulous attention to detail as well as her professional yet accessible and friendly style. Laura is a skilled problem-solver and negotiator, and will fervently protect her clients’ interests while pursuing workable solutions.
