I am a personable and approachable solicitor specialising in the vast and frequently changing area of employment law and HR. I pride myself on supporting clients by offering practical, commercial advice based on their needs and desired outcomes.

EMPLOYMENT LAW
My practice covers both contentious and non-contentious employment law, including disciplinary and grievance proceedings, dealing with long term sickness absence, redundancy, outsourcing, employment contracts and policies, company sales and acquisitions, restructuring, TUPE, working time and holiday issues (including pay), pre-termination negotiations, worker status, settlement agreements and tribunal claims.

TRAINING
I am an experienced speaker and trainer, advising on new and/or proposed legislation, providing updates on recent case law, and providing practical guidance to companies on how to comply with their statutory obligations. As a former teacher, I enjoy providing practical and bespoke training, using talks and case studies, to explain the law and to bring it to life in an employment context.

EXPERIENCE
My experience includes:

- Defending and prosecuting claims in the Employment Tribunal including unfair dismissal, disability discrimination, breach of contract, race discrimination, whistle blowing;
- Negotiating settlement agreements
- Removing/evicting domestic staff
- Advising on restructuring and redundancies, outsourcing and TUPE issues
- Advising on whistle blowing, disciplinary and grievance procedures;
- Advising on worker versus employee status, long term sick leave, maternity and parental leave rights, discrimination law, working time issues including holiday pay and 'working time'.
