Chris qualified in 1997 after training exclusively in employment law. He has since been accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as an employment law specialist since 2005 although he continues to advise clients across the UK.

He acts mainly for employers dealing with every aspect of employment and discrimination law but also assists employees on exit, looking to negotiate their contracts and where they require representation before the Employment Tribunal. His tribunal advocacy experience is extensive and he has regularly appeared before ETs and in the Employment Appeal Tribunal over the last 20 years.

Chris also has experience in professional regulatory law having acted as a legal advisor to the Scottish Social Services Council and having assisted clients involved in proceedings before the Nursing and Midwifery Council in recent years.

He acts for employers in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and for organisations in almost every profession and industry sector.

He writes regularly on topics of professional interest, is co-editor of Green's Employment Law Bulletin published by Thomson Reuters and is an external examiner in employment law, for the University of Dundee.
