I'm an Associate at Paris Smith LLP in the employment team, advising both employees and employers on all aspects of employment law. I also advise on a range of business and personal immigration issues.

I work together with clients to find practical solutions which meet their commercial needs whilst managing the legal risks they face.

I have particular experience in advising employers on the challenging HR issues they face day to day, from avoiding discrimination in the recruitment process to family friendly rights and disciplinary and grievance procedures. I also help organisations manage strategic changes such as business reorganisations and redundancies, ensuring clients understand the legal requirements and risks and have appropriate contractual protection in place. I have a particular specialism in corporate support work and the due diligence process surrounding the sale and purchase of businesses and the issues that can arise, including managing the TUPE process. I also have experience in bringing and defending claims in the Employment Tribunal and supporting clients through the Employment Tribunal process. I have a specialism in the GDPR issues which arise during the employment relationship and regularly advise clients with regards to the enforceability and breach of restrictive covenants.

I have particular experience in business immigration, including advising on right to work checks and the obligations on employers as sponsors under the Immigration Rules. I also have experience in assisting clients with personal applications such as applying for a visa to join family in the UK, finance visas, settling in the UK and applying for British citizenship.
