Introduction to ELIPS

In this video, Jenny McGrandle, Sarah Hornblower, Marie Walsh and Allan Roberts discuss their work with ELIPS (the Employment Tribunal Litigant in Person Support Scheme) which is co-ordinated by ELA and the ELA pro bono committee and now operates as an online clinic for legal volunteers to provide support to unrepresented litigants. ELIPS clinics run twice a month on a Thursday, and volunteers can sign up for a full day (six hours) or half day (three hours) session. All advice is delivered on the day via the online clinic and no preparatory or follow-up work is required. The ELIPS clinic has the support of the Judges at the Employment Tribunals and runs in collaboration with Advocate, LawWorks and the Free Representation Unit.
